About the event
Children and adolescents with a disability such as ADHD, Anxiety Disorder, Dyslexia, or Autism may also demonstrate exceptional abilities or potential in a strength area such as math, writing, cognitive skills, performing or visual arts, creative thinking, leadership, or sports. Â Creating communities that celebrate twice exceptional people's strengths and support their vulnerabilities is critical to intentionally cultivating belonging and inclusion. Â Ensuring equity starts with identifying twice exceptional youth to ensure they have access to supports to meet their needs. Â Supporting positive identity development as a personal with a disability and giftedness is essentail. Â It is critical to use a strength based approach to nurture their strengths and support their areas of need across settings such as school, home, and the community. Â Engage in this transformational learning to walk away with ways to teach twice exceptional youth to understanding the different components of their identity.
